Entrusted with the task of bringing architectural vision to life, we embarked on a journey to create a Passivhaus Premium project that seamlessly marries innovation with the tranquillity of its surroundings. Commissioned for RIBA Work Stages 3-4, this endeavour unfolded under the unique auspices of planning permission granted through the exceptional country house rule, paragraph 55 of the National Planning Policy Framework.

The design ethos embraced a harmonious integration with the natural topography—a structure that gracefully nestles into the gently sloping landscape of the North Cotswolds. This intentional placement not only amplifies the play of natural light but also frames breathtaking views throughout the predominantly open-plan living spaces. The architecture becomes a canvas, with the exceptional rolling countryside serving as a dynamic backdrop to daily life.

As a testament to its significance, this project garnered the spotlight on Season 23 of Grand Designs, airing on the 8th of November 2023, under the title 'North Cotswolds.' It's not just a house; it's a featured narrative in the evolving story of architectural excellence.
